University of Phoenix joins with Fohi JROTC for donation of 800 toys


Fourteen University of Phoenix Southern California Campus Learning Centers donated more than 800 new and unwrapped toys to the local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and Fontana High School Junior ROTC as part of the national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The event was held last week at the University of Phoenix San Bernardino Learning Center.

The toys collected will be distributed to local children in the community.

"We were excited to partner with University of Phoenix Southern California Campus to make the holidays a little brighter for children in our communities who are in need," said Wayne Harkley, MSgt, USMC, (Ret), a local Toys for Tots coordinator. "Toys for Tots has had a major impact on the lives of millions of people who are less fortunate and we are proud to join with them for this cause."

University of Phoenix Student Web is one of the best services of the ecampus.phoenix.edu, from where students get their education related information like their report card, results, attendance sheet, exam time table, etc.  Students of Phoenix University use this service after logging in the site with username and password which is given by university.

The University of Phoenix (UPX) is a commercial institution of higher learning. It is fully owned subsidiary of Apollo Group Inc. With a student body in North America, it became second largest state university of New York. Currently, it has enrollment of 420,700 undergraduate students and 78,000 graduate students, or 224,880 full-time equivalent students. University completes expansion

University of Phoenix has completed expansion of its campus at 6501 Broadway Extension, adding 5,500 square feet to accommodate more students and enhance student services. The new facility occupies the same space as the previous campus. The now 43,000-square-foot campus includes a new system of interactive classrooms and a Student Resource Center.

In Tulsa, University of Phoenix has started construction on classrooms at its Tulsa campus in Eastgate Metroplex, 14002 E 21st St., adding 4,000 square feet to accommodate more students, services, classrooms and study areas. All classrooms will be equipped with the latest in educational technology.

Housing grants are awarded
Oklahoma Housing Finance Agencytrustees recently approved Home Investment Partnerships Program contracts, known as HOME contracts, for the rehabilitation of homes in Oklahoma. HOME encourages local governments and nonprofit housing organizations to build new homes, rehabilitate existing housing or make structural home repairs and is designed to encourage partnerships to fund construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing for low-income families, particularly in rural Oklahoma.

These housing development organizations received funding of $250,000 to work on properties, plus $10,000 for administration:

Delta Community Action Foundation Inc., for four homes in Comanche and three homes in McClain CountyINCA Community Services Inc., four homes in Johnston County; Community Action Resource and Development Inc., eight homes in Mayes County; Community Action Resource and Development Inc., eight homes in Wagoner County. Deep Fork Community Action Foundation Inc. received $233,250 for five homes inOkmulgee County, plus $9,330 for administration.

The following counties, cities and town received approximately $250,000 to rehabilitate properties, plus $10,000 for administration: Bryan County, three homes; Love County, three homes; McIntosh County, three homes; Pontotoc County, three homes. Atoka, three homes; Lindsay, four homes; Lehigh, four homes; Marlow, four homes; Newcastle, three homes; Tishomingo, five homes; Allen, three homes; Dustin, four homes; Loco, four homes; Porum, four homes; Stonewall, three homes; Stratford, Wayne, three homes.
